High-intensity interval training, or intense bursts of cardio, can include things like running, walking, bike riding, and other forms of cardio that can be done in short, intense bursts. Coupled with a healthy diet, researchers have found that the cells in the body will respond positively to this type of exercise and age slower. This is because this type of exercise increases the activity of the mitochondria in the cells, producing more energy in the body.
